RCR Mining Technology has won more contract work with Fortescue Metals Group, landing a design and construct equipment package at the miner’s Cloudbreak project.

The relocatable crushing plant, the fifth to be built together with FMG, will be able to process 3500 tonnes of iron ore an hour for primary sizing.

The plant will be fed by FMG’s autonomous truck fleet and is designed on the relocatable principles RCRMT has developed over the past 15 years.

RCRMT, which was snapped up by contractor NRW in February following the $630 million collapse of RCR Tomlinson late last year, is already working with FMG to provide apron and belt feeders for the $1.8 billion Eliwana iron ore project.

The Cloudbreak design and construction work takes the value of contracts with FMG to $40 million.
