The New South Wales Resources Regulator has commenced prosecution proceedings against Young Mining Company Pty Ltd for two alleged contraventions of the Mining Act.

The Regulator is alleging that Young Mining failed to comply with a condition of its mining authorisation in relation to the payment of rehabilitation security, and failed to comply with a statutory notice issued under the Act.

The cases are set down for first mention in the Young Local Court on 3 March 2020.

Each offence carries a maximum penalty for the company of up to $1.1 million.

As the matter is now before the Court, further details will not be released.
